Wide Eyed Wanderer

Last month Blackberry's announcement that it was putting itself on sale, didn't come as a surprise to most of us. Clearly, the company has struggled a lot in attempts to revive the days of old. The latest buzz in the market says that a number of bidders have lined up to take a closer look at the resources available at sale. But most of them are interested in the bits and pieces around the smartphone like the operating system and the keyboard patents but not so interested in the smartphones themselves.  Having been following all these mergers and announcements of take overs of various mobile and telecom units in recent types. I feel the latest wonder news could come from another tycoon company that looking to reinvent itself in domain beyond its traditional expertise, yes, that's Facebook. I believe, under current scenario a Facebook bid for blackberry could be a win-win situation for both companies and in particular it could provide the necessary arsenal to Mr. Zuckerbe...

Mark Zuckerberg yesterday unveiled a new and one of the most powerful feature to date @ facebook. This one adds a real time ticker of your activities on your profile for your friends to see. They can now see what music you are listening to, what news you are reading or even what pics or statuses do you like. This in turn creates patterns with respect to you and their other friends, which allows them to see things like which artist do friends like in common and along with other things of interest.   Personally i see this leading facebook to the waters of twitter(the timely status update of all your friends) dominance and it would be interesting to see how twitter replies to this competition.
