Friends yeah quality friends

Well i have been going through this re-evaluation phase of my life and found out i've suffered most because of my trait of "pleasing people" that i felt important to me in some way or the other. I've realised that part of my problem has been pleasing others. This has primarily been to remain liked, the routine guy and to avoid conflict, etc. All measures of my own insecurities. But lately I've been finding more and more that many of such people who I once considered friends, have actually been friends only because I've been a particular way with them, and if that 'way' has deviated in some way, then their friendship has waned or disappeared altogether. Some of my 'friends' have chosen to part ways, while I've chosen to part ways from others. What's been really interesting to me is that these friends, for want of a better word, have only been friends if I've been of a particular way. Attitudes, actions, opinions, etc. If I d...

The Kite runner...

If you want something you never had, do something you have never done. Don't go the way life takes you. Take the life the way you go. And remember you are born to live and not living because you are born. Not a word passes between us, not because we have nothing to say, but because we don't have to say anything - that's how it is between people who are each other's first memories. Some times good, real good, is born out of one's remorse. At times one does things like, feeding the poor on the streets, building orphanages, giving money to friends in need, all in ones way of redeeming himself. And that i believe, is what true redemption is, when guilt leads to good. After all, life is not a Hindi movie. Zendagi migzara:Life goes on, unmindful of beginning, end, kamyab, nah-kum, crisis or catharsis, moving forward like a slow, dusty caravan of kochis. Silence and Quietness: Quiet is peace. Tranquillity. Quiet is turning down the volume knob of life. Silence is pushing t...

Random thoughts...

Games are addictive, why? Well o well to win a game one needs to focus on all the aspects of its. One needs to have an eye for the minutest of the detail. This is what i love the most about games. Its quite similar to the way one lives his life. One has to focus on the approach he takes up rather than on the ultimate goal. In terms of the game, a gamer keeping in mind the mission focuses on the approach rather the goal. I just met this guy named Mike Langle on my way home last night. He's been travelling around the world for last 10 years or so. According to him, its does sound strange but the people in different parts of globe are quite same at their heart. Its just the way of communicating, the boundaries of geographical lands that stand between them. And probably thats one of the reasons why a person can make his way through all these lands just by using the language of hearts than that of the lands. How true of him? thats what i was thinking later on. How easily one can make hi...

"Chak De O Chak De India..."

Guys what a month this has been for Indian sports!!! From the Hockey Asia Cup to Nehru Cup football and now the Inagural 20-20 World Cup, we have won three cups in three different sports in a span of 30 days. The Indian sports seems to be peaking up quite sharply at the right time. To add to it the victory of Karan Chandok in the recent GP1 formula race has proved to be the icing on the cake. Its really good to see India rising as a formidable power in various disciplines of sports. The unofficial National Sports Anthem "Chak De O Chak De India..." seems to be doing the trick and has proved quite lucky for us. One couldn't have asked for more, guys. I hope this streak of wins continues for long, especially at the next Olympics games as well and India comes up as a strong force to be reckoned with in sports, just as it has proved itself on the economic front.

"The Fountainhead"....

The Fountainhead is the story about the life of an idealistic young architect, Howard Roark , who chooses to struggle rather than compromise his artistic and personal vision by pandering to the prevailing taste in building design. Quite strangely he lives in the fourth dimension, least concerned about what the people around think of him. The author has beautifully characterized the people in the world into three categories. Firstly the people like Howard Roark who are incapable of relating to the others around them and who in their arrogance transform that incapacity into a life principle. Set against them are the ones like Peter Keating , another architect. Like Roark , Keating is totally self absorbed, but lacks Roark's arrogance. These are the ones who are dishonest for financial advantages and can even go to extend of asking the Roarks for help with a job and putting their own name on the job, albeit with their permission. And the rest are the people like Gail Wynand , who ...

WOW... What a game it was....

Well the first 20-20 cricket fixture between India and Pakistan was one hell of a game guys. What a cracker it was, had all the ingredients of a 20-20 game - fireworks, wickets, suspense, tension and finally a bowl out(same as football penalty shoot out). Congrats to India on coming out as a winner in the end. After the game was over i just had a thought that what a pity it is to see one brother(India) gaining from the loss of the other(Pakistan). How difficult it is to keep the two of them at parity with each other. Today by chance we had both of them at par but then ones again the rules set by the English did not allow that to happen and at last one had to win while the other had to lose the game. It was as if the history was repeating itself after 60 years. The rules set by british were once again able to divide India into two - The Winner and The Losser.

Just finished reading this helluva book "Shantaram". A great book that keeps you totally engrossed till the last of its events is unfurled, well for me i finished it in almost 4 days ;-) that's what they call schumacher stuff but dude the book was so good that i just couldn't keep myself away frm it for long. The character's keep making u laugh n a bit of touchy at some instances as well. Each character in itself portraits a different being from the other in each and every sense. A book that tells how the Indians work with their heart and how important it is to surrender urself at times in India. How one has to at times do the wrong stuff 4 the right reasons? All in all a Fuckin good book yaar... Here's a list of some of the great quotes from the book that i would remember for quite a long time -->The difference between news and gossip-News tells you what people did, gossip tells you how much they enjoyed it. -->A king is a bad enemy, a worse friend, and...
